Rahbord Energy: Javad Shahmohammadi, the CEO of Isfahan Petrochemical, has referred to the value chain plans of the company and said the plasticizer project in the downstream chain of phthalic anhydride (PA) will be launched soon. He said, according to initial estimates, the project will be completed in 18 months, but calls have been made to finish the project within 12 to 15 months.
The CEO of Isfahan Petrochemical referred to the implementation of another project of the company in South Pars in the Asalouyeh region under the name of the phenol-acetone Project and said, considering that Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding is the major shareholder of Isfahan Petrochemical, it was decided to implement the phenol-acetone project. He said talks are underway to pave the way to implement the project. Shahmohammadi hailed the phenol-acetone project as a considerable project in the downstream chain. According to him, phenol acetone value chains are methyl methacrylate (MMA) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
Regarding the financing by Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding for the development of Isfahan Petrochemical Company, Shah Mohammadi said last year Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding took very positive steps for Isfahan Petrochemical Feed Supply. He said Isfahan Petrochemical Feed increased from 10,000 barrels per day to 12,000 barrels per day. This, he said, caused a 21% rise in production and a 67% rise in Isfahan’s petrochemical income. The CEO of Isfahan Petrochemical also said that, with the support of relevant officials, Isfahan Petrorefinery Holding will continue to support Isfahan Petrochemical in this field. Shah Mohammadi referred to the memorandum of understanding for the supply of catalyst for the complex isomerization unit and said the purchase of this product from foreign companies was cancelled because very good catalyst companies are now present in Iran. This will prevent the outflow of currency from the country and strengthen domestic companies.
Regarding the issue of a surge in production through people’s participation, he said a lot needs to be done in the area. He said it will be tried to procure all the necessary equipment from domestic companies. He said Isfahan Petrochemical is known as a green industry in Isfahan province, and all the relevant factors in this area, including HSE and passive defense factors, have been taken into consideration.
